Turmeric powder is not only responsible for the yellow colour of most curry powders, but is also ideal for adding colour to all green dishes. A green Thai curry, for example, gets an even brighter green colour with an additional pinch of turmeric. Of course, the trick works just as well with pea soup and anything else. Other uses of turmeric powder are e.g. turmeric latte, biryani, khao mok gai, satay skewers and many different spice blends.
